Dr. Hina Khan is the 7th generation of the army and daughter of Col. Muhammad Ishaq, coming from a military background with both parents serving as army officers. She is the only one with a Ph.D. in narcotics. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations, awarded by Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) in March 2023 through a collaborative program with the National Defence University (NDU), where she completed her coursework. Her doctoral research focused on “Drug Trafficking and Security Challanges for Pakistan and Afghanistan (2000-2010): A case study of cross border Infiltration.” Prior to this, she earned her M.Phil. in 2015 from the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at NDU, where her dissertation examined “Narcotic Drugs: Pakistan as transit Country and its Reperussions on Balochistan.” She also holds a Master's degree in English Language and Literature from Multan, reflecting her literary interests and academic versatility.

Dr. Khan has served as a visiting scholar at the Command and Staff College, Quetta, and is a regular visitor at the Institute of Military History, where she provides input on research work. She is a consultant for the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan, contributing to policy and strategic discussions on narcotics trafficking countermeasures. She has engaged with the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), showcasing her influence across all three forces (Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, and Pakistan Navy). She participated in the National Security Workshop organized by the Institute for Strategic Research and Analysis (ISRA). She is also engaged with the Islamabad Press Club. She is a regular commentator on domestic, regional, and global political affairs and frequently appears as an analyst on television.
